Colleen's Journey Into Mediumship Certification:
Entities began manifesting and dialoging with me, by my earliest recollection, starting at 4 years old. It was crazy-scary and chaotic and random and I was clueless as to why or what they wanted or if other people had the same experiences. I had no control over it, so it led to my developing some bizarre anxiety and self-soothing coping mechanisms. Back in the 1970s there wasn't the access to the internet, and I was being raised in a Roman Catholic practicing home, that was open to the notion of "spiritualism," (Spiritualism is not a religion. but instead a belief-set in the continuity of a energetic or soul life/existence after the physical death)0, but other than a few ghost-stories and local legends that was about as far as it went.
For as long as I can remember, I've had a fascination with energy and mediumship and POSITIVE occult and homeopathy practices, (like using oils and elixirs, natural remedies, etc...). In my teens I began ordering herbs and essential oils from a company based in San Francisco and experimented with scented potpourris and candles, not really realizing that doing so was essentially a form of aromatic homeopathy.
Fast-forward into my 20s and I started taking some mediumship development classes. My first class was a beginner's class with a Lily Dale Registered Medium through KenTon Continuing Education. Those energetic voices and visions had been with me since I was 4 years old, but there were no boundaries or control, and the more intrigued I became, the more intrusive "they" became. My early days of mediumship were like a bad car accident... I knew I shouldn't look, but I couldn't stop myself from looking! The same thing applies to mediumship, the more I dug-in to try to figure it out, the more the entities would present, and then I'd left overwhelmed and constantly walking on pins and needles. If you let "them" know you're willing to listen, the more "they" will bend your ear. I knew I two choices:
1. Either try desperately to shut-it down, completely, or
2. Embrace it and try to gain some control.
I first tried Option 1. It was a massive failure, and I realized I only had 1 option, and that was choice 2.
Every few years I'd try a different mediumship teacher or home circle, but I often found myself frustrated, not because of them, or because I couldn't receive and deliver messages, but because I seemed to have no control. I was told that most of what I relayed was accurate, but random and haphazard.
Blessedly, I had a reading with an extraordinarily gifted Medium several years ago who said to me, "You can do this..."
I whined back, "... But... I've been taking classes for years, and I just get frustrated..."
And she replied gently, kindly but firmly, "Because you keep putting yourself in Kindergarten when you're at a High School level. Find yourself a more advanced group and you'll get going..."
Well, let me tell you... that was the best $60 I've ever spent on a reading! That knowledge, that empowerment, that insight was exactly what I needed to hear! And I realized that was how I wanted to use my mediumship, to offer insight and empowerment to those I read, to elevate their vibration, cheer them on, help them negotiate rough waters and get them to a place where they'll find peace, smooth sailing and confidence in their own personal journey.
At the same time as I had this enlightening reading another opportunity crossed my path. Serendipitously, in 2019, after decades of classes and intrigue regarding the metaphysical, paranormal and quantum planes of existence, Lily Dale Registered Medium Rev. Angie Hewett-Abt, under whom I had previously studied, offered her first-ever mediumship certification program. I had been studying in Angie's Beginner's class and had just moved into her Advanced study class the night she made this announcement. I enrolled in her 10-month long certification intensive study program and is was exactly what I needed!
This certification encompassed months of classes, trainings and required participants to complete 40 evaluated evidential readings, complete 2 public platform readings and 2 blind evidential phone readings, (our facilitator told us to be by our phone on a certain day / time and we'd receive a call from a stranger that she had scheduled for us - and boom! We had to deliver an accurate and evidential reading to a mystery stranger whom we knew *nothing* about, not even a name). I was finally able to gain control, well, okay, 97% control and channel by abilities as needed.
I continue to learn more and take more classes and sit with some amazing practitioners. For me, I will always keep studying and learning more as I have an insatiable quest for knowledge. I'm astutely aware that I have been blessed to cross paths with some amazing teachers and I love the path of enlightenment that I'm on.
In June of 2020, after passing all critical tests and criteria, I received my (mental) mediumship certification from Santosha Spiritual Church in Williamsville, NY. This certification, in-conjunction with my reverend ordination through The Infinity Foundation, an international non-denominational (spiritualist) church, brought me to where I am today. I am able to provide marriage/unity ceremonies, baptism/welcoming ceremonies and celebrations of life for families/individuals who wish to uplift those who have crossed to the energetic plane of existence. I also offer home blessings and "cleansings" and paranormal investigations where I lead from a place of love, kindness and understanding rather than a "I'm here to evict you" type of anger. Most entities, I have found, simply linger because they have a story to tell, or need some type of gentle "counseling" to help them trust in the evolution to the other side of the veil truly is a lovely, welcoming and forgiving place.
Oddly enough, as I decided to start stepping-back from my 6-day work week into a more manageable 4-day work week, I was seeking a smaller more intimate place to downsize and move my office where it would still be convenient for the clientele I've built over the past 28-years and mindful of my continued expansion into my spiritual practice.
I am DELIGHTED to announce my practice will be relocating as of May, 2026 INTO Santosha Holistic Center in Williamsville, NY. The same mentor and friend who guided me in opening and controlling my mediumship abilities is welcoming me into her center where I will be working, independently, but in-conjunction with other holistic practitioners including a naturopath physician and a mental health counselor. Angie's space also boasts a beautiful event and teaching space, so I'll continue to offer classes and promote events in the WNY area! #Blessed!
I currently offer psychic mediumship readings at my office BY SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT around my massage client bookings; these sessions can be booked either in-conjunction with a massage, or separately, (please see my Service Menu tab for pricing and description).
Please note: I say "by scheduled appointment" for three reasons:
1. I have worked very hard to learn to control the voices and entities who approach and talk to me, so I'm not "on/open" 24-hours a day,
2. I refuse to read people without their permission as:
- It's an invasion of their privacy,
- It's against my morals, ethics and NYS laws, and
- I have no desire to step on anyone's religious or spiritual toes.
3. And lastly, I can only do what I do because I am blessed to have a team of energetic entities who work with me when I am "open" and doing readings. They respect my parameters, and I respect theirs, so when I know I'm going to do a reading, I prepare by asking them to be with me while I do so. They are not on-call for anyone's entertainment purposes, including mine.
I have taught at Lily Dale, NY, (the largest spiritual community in the world), I teach (mental) mediumship classes throughout the year, have appeared on broadcast TV, have been invited to speak in front of groups and deliver platform messages that offer inspiration and connection, but more importantly, restore the FAITH and BELIEF that life truly continues past the physical plane of existence. What love has bound together, cannot be broken, and those we have loved, both two-legged, four-legged, feathered or finned, are merely a thought away from connecting with us. I am currently working on a book that details my very convoluted, winding, twisted and always surprising path that has taken me on this journey.
A few definitions:
A PSYCHIC is someone who's able to key-in on a past, present or future situation by merely using their gut-intuition or instinct. They do not interact with energetic entities.
A MEDIUM can also key-in on past, present or future situations AND they are able to also interact with energetic entities be they human spirits/ghosts, animals, Earth Elementals, entities from other planes of existence, angels, etc, (Note: Some Mediums *only* interact with spirits that were once human; I can and have interacted with a variety of the entities mentioned above).
Mediums are always Psychics; Psychics are never Mediums.
SPIRITUALISM is not a religion. Spiritualism is instead a belief-set, a belief in the continuity of continued life after the physical death has occurred. You can be a spiritualist and still be a Christian, a Jew, a Buddhist, etc...
