The Elysian Room Creative Studio

Elysian: Greek; adjective meaning: beautiful and creative, peaceful and perfect, divinely inspired.

Some are familiar with the terminology "the elysian fields," a theorized heavenly field where our

souls pass when we leave the physical plane of existence. When I was thinking of creating a

learning and sharing space where I could host all type of peaceful, knowledgeable and beautiful

practitioners and ideas from across the globe, I struggled to find a proper name - until one

morning when I awoke and "saw" The Elysian Room Creative Studio written in the air and

floating above me. Admittedly, I had heard the term "elysian" previously, but was unsure as to

its exact meaning. A quick Google to Webster's Dictionary and I knew I had found the name for

my creative space, and it was a perfect fit. Hence, The Elysian Room Creative Studio!

I gave great thought and meditation into how I wanted to architect this facility and began to

construct the parameters for the space in my mind's eye. I began to offer a variety of grounding

and centering classes like yoga and meditation and breath-work, and as I did so, another area of lifelong interest began to bubble more and more to the surface: psychic mediumship and the

study of the paranormal, ("para" around; "normal:" accepted societal parameters. So

"paranormal" is anything outside of accepted societal parameters. Wow. That's a vast concept,

isn't it?!?).

Before I delve into my experience in the realm of psychic mediumship I do want to acknowledge

that this arena is not everyone's cup-of-tea or religious foundation. Therefore, I am equally

passionate and committed to offering inclusive events such as: cooking classes, fun and crafty

classes, grounding sound bath events, classes on life planning, organizing, healthy lifestyle

choices, etc. It is also available to rent by other practitioners who wish to offer an event or class

within our facility, or even to rent for private events like wedding/baby showers, etc.

The Elysian Room Creative Studio is not simply about all things "paranormal."

But now that we're here, let's discuss the whole paranormal thing.

First off, education:

A "PSYCHIC" is someone who is able to deliver messages about a past, present or future event

using a gut-hunch or intuition. A psychic does not interact with a spiritual or energetic plane-of-

existence. So if you're in Las Vegas and you see a sign that says "Psychic Readings: 15-minutes

for $30" and you go in because you want to learn where Uncle Alvin buried his mason jars of

money, that PSYCHIC is not going to connect you with Uncle Alvin. They don't deal with

energetic entities.

A "MEDIUM" can do exactly what a psychic can do: receive information regarding past, present

or future events, but we do so with interactions from an energetic plane of existence. So yes,

we're the people who can tell you that "Uncle Alvin is here, thank you for wearing the watch he

left you, and he says he loves you, but he spent his fortune so don't bother digging up the back

yard..."

And to further expand upon "mediumship" please note it can be very subjective depending upon the Medium themselves. First off, it's working with ENERGY, and energy is in constant motion. We are normal human beings and have good and bad days. We have stresses, family drama, bills to pay, etc. just like the person we're being asked to read. Your energy can also dictate how well a reading will go. While you should "never feed the Medium"; minimally acknowledge if we are on a correct directive path or not, because if you sit across from us completely poker-faced, we may start to question the information the entities are giving to us, and when our egos or brains get involved, it blocks the clarity and authenticity of the message.

Additionally, some Mediums only work with the "highest, brightest and best" when doing a reading. I send out that request as well for the information I'm being given in private readings, but I also hear/see/interact with energetic entities of varying dimensions. I've received messages from earth elementals, protectors, teachers, guides, etc. who may or may not have walked the earth plane. But this is a whole different story, and every Psychic Medium practices differently and interacts differently; ultimately, find a responsible, respectful, positive, helpful practitioner that aligns with you and how you wish to receive a message.

Colleen's Journey Into Mediumship Certification

I have taken my share of "mediumship classes" since the early '90s when I took a beginner's class with Lily Dale Registered Medium, Rev. Patricia Price through KenTon Continuing Education, but I've always gotten bored and frustrated. I went from mediumship teacher to mediumship teacher, always finding myself frustrated, not because of them, or because I couldn't receive and deliver messages, but because I seemed to have no control and everything was accurate, but random and haphazard. Those energetic voices and visions had been with me since I was 4 years old, but there were no boundaries or control, and the more intrigued I became, the more intrusive "they" became.

Blessedly, I had a reading with an extraordinarily gifted Medium who said to me, "You can do this..." and I whined back, "... But... I've been taking classes for years, and I just get frustrated..." and she said, gently, kindly but firmly, "Because you keep putting yourself in

Kindergarten when you're at a High School level. Find yourself a more advanced group and

you'll get going..."

Well, let me tell you... that was the best $60 I've ever spent on a reading! That knowledge, that

empowerment, that insight was exactly what I needed to hear! And I realized that was how I

wanted to use my mediumship, to offer insight and empowerment to those I read, to elevate their vibration, cheer them on, help them negotiate rough waters and get them to a place where they'll find peace, smooth sailing and confidence in their personal journey.

At the same time as I had this enlightening reading another opportunity crossed my path.

Serendipitously, in 2019, after decades of classes and intrigue regarding the metaphysical,

paranormal and quantum planes of existence, Lily Dale Registered Medium Rev. Angie Hewett-

Abt, under whom I had previously studied, offered her first mediumship certification program. I

enrolled in her 10-month long certification intensive study program.

This certification encompassed months of classes, trainings and required participants to complete 40 evaluated evidential readings, complete 2 public platform readings and 2 blind evidential phone readings, (our facilitator told us to be by our phone on a certain day / time and we'd receive a call from a stranger that she had scheduled for us - and boom! We had to deliver an accurate and evidential reading to a mystery stranger whom we knew *nothing* about, not even a name).

In June of 2020, after passing all critical tests and criteria, I received my (mental) mediumship

certification from Santosha Spiritual Church in Williamsville, NY. This certification, in

conjunction with my reverend ordination through The Infinity Foundation, an international non-

denominational (spiritualist) church brought me to where I am today. I am able to provide

marriage/unity ceremonies, baptism/welcoming ceremonies and celebrations of life for

families/individuals who wish to uplift those who have crossed to the energetic plane of

existence. I also offer home blessings and "cleansings" and paranormal investigations where I

lead from a place of love, kindness and understanding rather than a "I'm here to evict you" type

of anger. Most entities, I have found, simply linger because they have a story to tell, or need

some type of gentle "counseling" to help them trust in the evolution to the other side of the veil

truly is a lovely, welcoming and forgiving place.

I currently offer psychic mediumship readings at my office and BY SCHDULED APPOINTMENT; these sessions can be booked either in-conjunction with a massage, or separately, (please see our Service Menu tab for pricing and description).

Please note: I say "by scheduled appointment" for three reasons:

1. I have worked very hard to learn to control the voices and entities who approach and

talk to me, so I'm not "on/open" 24-hours a day,

2. I refuse to read people without their permission as:

- It's an invasion of their privacy,

- It's against my morals, ethics and NYS laws, and

- I have no desire to step on anyone's religious or spiritual toes.

3. And lastly, I can only do what I do because I am blessed to have a team of energetic

entities who work with me when I am "open" and doing readings. They respect my

parameters, and I respect theirs, so when I know I'm going to do a reading, I prepare by

asking them to be with me while I do so. They are not on-call for anyone's entertainment

purposes, including mine.

I have taught at Lily Dale, NY, (the largest spiritual community in the world), I teach (mental)

mediumship classes within The Elysian Room Creative Studio, have appeared on broadcast

TV, have been invited to speak in front of groups and deliver platform messages that offer

inspiration and connection, but more importantly, restore the FAITH and BELIEF that life truly

continues past the physical plane of existence. What love has bound together, cannot be broken, and those we have loved, both two-legged, four-legged, feathered or finned, are merely a thought away from connecting with us. I am currently working on a book that details my very

convoluted, winding, twisted and always surprising path that has taken me on this journey.

In 2021 I began to study physical mediumship. Here you go, more education:

"Mental" mediumship is the type that more are familiar with from TV and movies. Where a

Medium comes in and offers a mental connection to deliver a message from a loved-one-passed.

"Physical" mediumship is a completely different beast from mental mediumship. Physical

mediumship practitioners are, in the grande scheme of the world, very few and far between.

These are mediumship practitioners that work with an energetic/spirit beings to manifest physical phenomena including: apparitions, (of both entities or physical items), voices, ectoplasm, etc. I have been blessed to meet and study with these extraordinarily rare and gifted practitioners that I host, from all over the world.
